Having performed over 10,000 cataract surgeries, Anthony “Tony” Kokx, M.D. (known simply as Dr. Tony to his patients) brings exceptional surgical experience and precision to every procedure. But to Dr. Tony, world-class vision correction is about much more than technical skill—it’s about understanding how you live and what you love to see.

Recognizing that no two patients share the same visual demands, Dr. Kokx takes a collaborative, individualized approach to every consultation. Whether you are exploring cataract surgery or seeking visual freedom through Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE), he takes the time to listen and match the latest advanced intraocular lens technologies—including Light Adjustable Lenses (LAL), multifocal, extended depth of of focus, and toric options—to your unique lifestyle and daily activities.

Dr. Kokx is also an experienced refractive specialist offering EVO ICL (Implantable Collamer Lens) surgery, LASIK, and PRK, helping patients significantly reduce or eliminate their dependence on glasses and contacts. Alongside anterior segment and complex reconstructive procedures like iris repair, he provides comprehensive medical eye care, treating conditions such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and dry eye disease.

Background & Training

Raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, he completed both his undergraduate studies and medical degree at Michigan State University. Dr. Kokx completed his residency at the West Virginia University Eye Institute, where he received intensive training in high-complexity medical and surgical ophthalmic care. After practicing in North Carolina, he relocated to Denver in 2014, serving as Chief of Ophthalmology for a leading regional healthcare network before entering private practice. He is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons.

Beyond the Clinic

As an avid runner and passionate landscape and night photographer, Tony knows firsthand the value of crisp, dependable vision and an appreciation for fine detail. Outside the clinic, you’ll most often find him spending time with his two sons, Ben and Sam, logging miles on local trails, or heading into the mountains to hike and ski. Dr. Tony also remains deeply committed to community service, regularly volunteering with the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless to deliver essential eye care to the community’s most vulnerable populations.
